Founded in 1997 in Scotland, ClinTec is a full service global Clinical Research Organisation (“CRO”), providing clinical research personnel (“Global Resourcing”) and project management services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and larger CROs globally.  ClinTec has built up a very strong presence in emerging markets, having been present in Central and Eastern Europe since 2000, Asia since 2002 and Latin America and the MENA Region since 2003.  ClinTec has a database of some 5,000 clinical researchers, and with offices in Bangalore, New York, Mexico City, London, Krakow, Beirut and Dubai, it is well placed to meet resourcing demands on a global basis.

Over the past decade, spending on the contracting out of clinical services grew at a CAGR of 13.4%, as pharmaceutical companies sought to reduce costs and improve efficiencies.  ClinTec is extremely well placed in this market, with an excellent geographical footprint, solid track record in western and emerging markets and well established relationships with many of the pharmaceutical majors.  Dr Rabinder Buttar, who founded the company was named Scottish Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010.

Elephant Capital invested £8m in ClinTec in August 2010.
